Family Hotel in Hunza

Villa Darya is a family-friendly hotel in Shishkat, Upper Hunza, about 5 km from Attabad Lake. We have a dedicated Family Room, and the sights around us, from the lake to Passu, are short drives rather than long days. This page covers what to know before bringing children to Hunza.

Rooms for families

The Family Room sleeps up to three. The Executive Room, our largest, sleeps up to two and has a king bed and a private balcony. Children under 5 stay free when sharing existing bedding. If you are a larger group, ask us before booking and we will tell you what fits across rooms.

Meals

Breakfast is included with every room. Lunch and dinner are cooked to order and charged separately, so you can ask for simpler food for children without ordering a set menu. See the restaurant menus.

Things to do with children near the hotel

Attabad Lake, 5 km away: boat rides across the turquoise water are what most families come for.
Hussaini Suspension Bridge, 8 km: a short, memorable walk, but the bridge is not for everyone and the planks are widely spaced, so decide on the day.
Borith Lake, 10 km: a gentle lakeside walk.
Passu Cones and Passu Glacier, 13 to 21 km: views you can enjoy from the road.

Travelling with children on the Karakoram Highway

Driving in Hunza means long stretches on mountain roads, and the highway can close without warning. Plan shorter days, carry water and snacks, and tell us your arrival time. If you will arrive late, someone will wait up. Read our guide to driving the Karakoram Highway.

Check-in is from 2pm and check-out by 11am. Early check-in and late check-out are free when the room allows it.
